vssc084n - 31 containers

South Sea Cargo’s barge departed from Port Vila on the 24th April with a record number of 31 containers. Headed up to Malekula first to deliver and reposition some of the goods packed in containers, the barge then travelled to Santo to deliver 18 containers to the Sanma province before returning home to Port Vila.

This trip was exciting as it shows how useful and effective the new barge has been for Soth Sea Cargo and its customers, being able to deliver more containers, while still retaining its advantages of being safe, convenient and reliable.

The barge team had mentioned that since this trip had the highest number of containers, it had brought new challenges that the team were able to learn from and the next time there are the same number of containers, the team will be well equipped and experienced at handling the heavy load.

During this voyage, the team not only loaded containers but there were also quite a few vehicles that were being transported. This is great as the team are able to handle the heavy containers while also being careful of the valuable vehicles on board also.

It was another successful voyage as when the crew arrived back in Port Vila there were 2 LCL containers unloaded in Vila, the ‘Less than Container Load’ containers are becoming a more popular option with South Sea Cargo as the team offer a smooth process for delivering and collecting cargo, away from the busy wharf environment.
